CHOICE IN TRANSPORT:
STEM CASTERS VS. DOLLY TRUCKS

 

As part of Metro's entire line of high-quality products, stem caster carts and dolly trucks are designed for maximum flexibility in all commercial applications. But are there times when one should be specified instead of the other?

The answer is yes.

MetroMax and Super Erecta Stem Caster Carts feature high rollability and maneuverability. Stem casters, which are available in swivel, rigid, or brake types, are more economical than dolly trucks. They also convert easily from mobile to stationary units. Because they are designed for medium duty loads, stem caster carts are perfect for transporting work-in-process or storing anything from kits to sub-assemblies.

On the other hand, Metro dolly trucks specialize in strength. Thus, they are often the vehicle of choice when transporting especially heavy objects, such as finished products, in over-the-road type applications. Due to their heavier capacity, the dollies also come with optional wraparound bumpers, which provide 360-degree protection around the base of the cart. Truck dollies offer still more value with Metro's patented Brake-lock/Swivel-lock system, which instantly transforms the dolly's front rigid caster into swivel casters at the flip of a lever.
